THE NATURESCAPES.NET SKIMMER GROUND POD

The best vantage point for some types of bird photography is to get at ground level and use a slow approach. I use the popular NatureScapes.Net Skimmer ground pod and Orvis chest waders to shoot on various surfaces. The circular design allows a small, protected area within the Skimmer to place teleconverters, a media case, etc. for easy access.

I typically carry my gear on the tripod, carrying the Skimmer tucked in behind a Tamrac waist pack.
